EVENT: American LeMans Series On August 17-20 the American LeMans Series held the Generac 500 at Road America. Joining the ALMS were the Speed World Challenge Touring and GT series as well as Star Mazda and IMSA Lites. Of all the races at Road America during the season this is probably the weekend with the most passing on track. Even if not for position, the ALMS LMP1 and LMP2 drivers are in traffic virtually the entire race, which makes for some interesting moments. These cars are probably also the loudest. Is there a sweeter sound than that of the Chevy Corvette rumbling through the woods? In contrast, I've never heard a racecar that put out such little noise as the Audi R10 Diesel...damn that car is sneeky!
