Assemblage Sculpture & Pedestal

Everyone has experienced disappointment or heartache at some point. I wanted viewers to feel connected to this piece in some way, thus I used a mirrored finish so they could see themselves in the piece and perhaps examine their own feelings. The broken vase represents trying to put pieces in life back together. The flower stem and petals represent holding onto things in your heart, despite all logic telling you to sweep them away. Finally, the piece being placed on top of a glittering pedestal enhances the importance of the entire piece.
