So what exactly is it that I do? When not pulling my hair out from computer gremlins I am a graphic design student at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Thanks to my new Apple laptop I don't have to worry about computer viruses anymore and can actual get some work done without my software acting stupid. I have experience with the entire Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Image Ready as well as Macromedia Dreamweaver and some basic HTML programming. These programs make a designer's life a lot easier, however I still know the value of sitting down with a pencil and sketch pad and scribbling out ideas by hand.
In my time as a student designer I've designed logos, websites, magazine advertisements and brochures for a handful of businesses outside of my school work. Please browse through the rest of the website to view this work. I hope to continue to be able to do outside freelance work while attending class. Balancing school and freelance work is difficult at times but I enjoy the opportunity to get more design experience under my belt.
I also have experience with photography, both film and digital. I enjoy the process of developing film by hand, although nothing can beat the convience of taking a photo and seconds later being able to see the composition. I have a Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT and Canon EOS Rebel K2 that help me to get some great shots. My favorite thing to photograph is racing as you'll see from my gallery of racing shots in my photos page.
My goal is to be an influential member of the design community, someone whose work is sought after by clients and respected by peers. I would like to experience working for an advertising or design studio where I can fully concentrate on improving as a designer. At some point in my design career I would like to start my own studio where I can use my experience and target projects and clients in industries that I'm passionate about. |
